FallofEmpires Quick Start and Help Guide
Firstly, welcome to FallOfEmpires. This guide is written to help you when you first start the game.
When you first login you will be taken to your base screen, this has information on your army, and all the other infrastructure you own. You will notice in the top
right hand corner your status wheel which shows your wealth, strength, rank and the next turn, as well as player data. Turns take place every hour at 30 mins. Turns take place
every 20 minutes at 00, 20 and 40. Each turn you will recieve your income as well as some strength and your army will recieve extra untrained soldiers.
To win at FallOfEmpires you have to become ranked #1 at the end of a campaign or age, the time left in the current campaign will be displayed at the top of each page above the
banner advert. Don't worry if you don't win, as every campaign will gain you valuable experience and respect of the other players. To become ranked #1, you must have the lowest combined ranking
total of all the 'ranking stats' which are Attack Potential, Defence Potential, Shipping Potential, and Covert Potential. Your raw stats as long as the individual ranks are displayed in your base as well as
in your forge home screen.

Stats:
Attack Potential
This stat is used to 'Attack' or 'Siege' other players. It can be increased by purchasing Attack Weapons from the Forge. Each of your
soldiers can hold 1 attack weapon, they will automatically select the best one available. There are two types of soldiers that can attack, untrained soldiers
and Attack Soldiers. A dedicated attack soldier will do more damage than an untrained soldiers, so it's best to train enough to hold all your weapons in battle.
The attack potential can also be increased by upgrading your soldiers. This can be done in the buildings page.
Defence Potential
This stat is used to fend off other players that choose to attack you. It can be increased by purchasing Defence weapons from the Forge. Each of your
soldiers can hold 1 defence weapons, they will automatically select the best on available. There are two types of soldiers that can defend, untrained soldiers
and Defence Soldiers. A dedicated Defence soldier will do more damage to opponents than un untrained soldier, so it's best to train enough to hold all your defence weapons, as you would in attack.
The Defence potential can also be incrased by upgrading your fort. Below is a screenshot of the fort upgrade section which is found at the bottom of your buildings page. Click on the appropriate part
of the map, or use the drop down menu to select which part of the fort you'd like to update and click on upgrade to purchase. If you have fully upgraded that part of your fort the drop down menu will say 'none'

Covert Potential
Covert Potential can be used to spy on your enemies, and to prevent others spying on you. To increase your Covert Potential, train spies in your training screen. You can also upgrade your
covert ability in the buildings page, and you can purchase covert weapons from the forge. Same rules apply as with attack and defence weapons, one weapons can be
carried per soldier, and the best weapon will be automatically chosen.
Farming Potential
Farming Potential is a NON RANKING stat. This means it will not be considered when deciding where players are ranked on the attack pages, although for interest a rank is displayed along side it in the base and forge, as with
the other stats. Despite tihs it is undoubtably one of the most important stats for beginners as it decides how many untrained soldiers your account will recieve per turn. The actual number you will recieve can be found in the base entitled
'Theoretical Unit Production' It is calculated by dividing the total soldiers in your army multiplied by a constant by your farming potential. The raw farming potential stat can be increased by training more of your untrained soldiers
to farmers, and upgrading your farming infrastructure in your buildings page. Many accounts choose to focus on farming potential at the beginning, but this is a personal choice depending on the strategy you choose.
Shipping Potential
Shipping potential is the only stat not to have a soldier type associated with it. At the beginning of a campaign it is not seen as an essential stat, but as time goes on it becomes crucial. During a battle (raid or siege) the participant
with the highest Shipping Potential will recieve a 25% bonus. This can make a huge difference in the later stages of a campaign, and can be seen as a cheap alternative to investing in both
attack and defence simaltaneously. It can be increased by purchasing ships from your forge, or upgrading your shipping infrastrucutre in the buildings page.
Income
Income is credited to your account every turn and you can use it to purchase weapons, upgrades, or train soldiers. You can also attack other users to steal their income. Income can be increased by training
miners in the training page, or increasing your mine upgrade in the buildings page. As with farming potential, income is a NON RANKING stat.
Starting Your Account
Now you understand how the games 6 stats systems work, you have to decide which ones you want to increase first. This varies from person to person, but most
people will decide to invest into their farming, attack and income first. This will allow you to steal gold and slaves from other users whilst making sure you can produce
your own when you run out of strength or potential targets. You will have 100,000 gold to start with and many users will purchase an attack weapon worth 32,000 Gold, with 400 strength and train a single attack soldier.
You may then choose to purchase mining or farming upgrades in the buildings screen as well as training miners or farmers, however you don't have to.
Attacking
Once you've bought an attack weapon you're ready to attack someone. To do this, click attack on the menu, and attack on the submenu and it will take you to the rankings page

The image above shows part of one of the rankings page. The First column shows the users overall rank. A red oval incates on offline user, whilst a green one indicates online. Next is displayed their username with a link to their profile, and
then their race, overall population (army size) and then the current gold in their account. Obviously you want to attack a player with alot of gold, but be careful, a higher ranked user will usually have a high defence potential. If there defence potential
is higher than your attack potential, you will not steal any of their gold, and your army may loose soldiers. Once you've decided which player you wish to attack click on their username and this will take you to their profile page.
The Profile Page

The Profile is split into two parts, the first part displayed above shows basic information about the users account including their username, rank, online/offline status and their wealth. However, it is the second part we are most interested in.

This second section gives you a list of the different actions you can take on the user.
Attack/Raid
This first box allows you to launch a raid on the other user. The first thing you have to decide is how much strength you wish to use.
If you use 1 strength your army will attack with just under 10% of your attack potential. If you use 2 strength just under 20% and so on to 10 strength which will use up nearly 100% of your attack potential.
Obviously, 100% will very rarely be achieved due to the changeable conditions on the battlefield. Depending on the defence potential of your enemy, you may need less than 10 strength to beat them, and can therefore save the strength for attacking other people.
If you win the battle you will steal a large proportion of their current gold total as well as possibly taking some slaves to join your army. You may only attack a player 5 times a day, so use
each one wisely. To win the battle your attack potential must be higher than their defence potential, but remember, the user with the higher shipping potential will secure themselves a 25% bonus. The battle with then take place and you will have a chance
to read the account of the battle from your chief officer. If you have been sucessful the gold and slaves you have pillaged will automatically be credited into your account.
Siege
This is for use on your enemies only! A Siege won't earn you any soldiers or wealth, but what it will do is attempt to damage the other users army. It will be most effective if you attack a user with a larger army than yourself, and have a higher attack potential than
their defence potential, however even if you haven't you'll usually cause them some damage. Remember however, they can siege you back.
Recon
You may recon a user 10 times per day, in an attempt to discover their stats, and other account information. The more spies you send in the more information you will recieve, however the
larger the likelyhood they will be caught, and the other user will learn about your mission. The information will be displayed in a list as show below:

Each piece of information will either be displayedas blue for most recent information or red as least recent information
with green and yellow in the middle. If you have never got information about a stat for a particular user '???' will be displayed. Of course, the older the information, the less reliable
it will be.
Messaging
Pretty self explanatory, click on to send a message to the user, more information on the system is shown below.
View Information
Will take you to your reports page where you can search for recent attacks and recons on the user. This may help you choose how many spies or strength you need to use for your mission.
Make Commander
At the start of the game you may have chosen another player to be your commander. You can change this to another user or 'ditch' at any point. (The option to Ditch your Commander can be found in the options menu.) Press this button to make this
user your commander. A Commander may be advantageous as they will offer you protection, and they will benefit with a slight increase to their farming potential.
Report User
This option should only be used if you have evidence that in someway the user has broken the rules of the game. If this rule break concerns a personal message you are asked to report the message in question
through your inbox. More information on reporting private messages will be in the private message section of this guide. Please use the drop down menu to indicate the type of infringment the user has committed
and then show any appropriate evidence in the box provided. You will be informed by private message when the issue has been dealt with.
Alliance Options
All alliance options will be dicussed in the alliance section of this guide.
Other Game Screens
Gods
Gods are a new feature to the game. As well as having the bonus for your race, you can choose
a god for your army to follow (Menu: Account => Gods). Each race has its own gods that provide a small stat boost (Attack, Defence, Covert, Shipping, Farming & Mining).
Your current god will be displayed in your base. Be careful however, sometimes gods may come and go, leaving you without one, and you may have to select anew. Also change never
suits everyone, so your change in loyalty may result in a price...
The Forge
Pretty straightforward, there are 3 pages in the forge, one buy, one sell, and home. On the buying page you may buy weapons. Each weapon has different strength and will help you with either attack, defence, covert and shipping. For an attack weapon you must have an
attack soldier or an untrained soldier to wield it. For a defence weapon you must have a defence soldier or an untrained soldier to wield it. For a covert weapon you need a spy to wield it. Each soldier can only wield one weapon. Ships do not need soldiers.
When you sell a weapon you will get only 75% of face value, so be careful when selling. The home page in the forge show your stats, army, and all the weapons you currently own.
Buildings
Buildings is used to upgrade your infrastructure. Your current technology is down the left hand side and the next upgrade as well as it's price is on the right. Click on the button to purchase the next upgrade. An upgrade will increase your stat by a set percentage.

Training
The training page has already been mentioned as have all the different types of soldier available earlier in the guide. A simple form is available, which allows you to train your untrained soldiers into Attack soldiers (here called Cavalry, this depends on your soldier upgrade),
Defence Soldiers, Spies, Miners or Farmers. Only attack soldiers and defence soldiers can be untrained and reassigned to another role.

Market
The Market Screen is used to purchase slaves from the market trader. It tells you how much each slave costs, how many you are allowed to buy, and how many you can afford. Simply type the number you want in the box, and they will be credited to you untrained soldiers.
Messaging
Any new messages will be shown on the left menu bar as shown below, in bold. These will open in a new window, which will close once you have replied. If there are no new messages a link to your inbox will be shown. You can access your inbox and outbox via the community menu.

To report a message click on the 'report' link on the right hand side. Use the drop down menu to select the type of infringment and provide any other comments or evidence as necessary.
